Included in the tourA seasonal excursion
This tour is only available during the tulip bloom, which lasts for a few weeks in spring. In 2026, the window is from October 15th to 31st. Outside of these dates, the fields are not in bloom and the tour is not offered. Therefore, it's advisable to book in advance: spaces for those weeks fill up quickly.
The Tulip Field
The field is located just outside Trevelin and plants over a million bulbs each season, arranged in colorful stripes that stand out against the snow-capped mountain range. It's one of the most photographed sights in Patagonia during spring. Entrance is included in the tour, and there's time to explore the paths between the rows and climb to the viewpoint.
Trevelin, the Welsh village
Trevelin means "mill town" in Welsh, and its history dates back to the 19th-century Welsh colonization of Patagonia. It preserves tea houses, the old flour mill converted into a museum, and a unique cultural identity. There is free time to explore the town center and, for those who wish, to enjoy traditional Welsh tea on their own.
Nant and Fall Falls
En route, you'll visit the Nant y Fall nature reserve, a series of waterfalls surrounded by forest, with short trails and viewpoints. The name, again in Welsh, means "stream and waterfall." Entrance is also included.
This is our longest excursion: about 15 hours due to the distance to Chubut, departing very early and returning around 10 PM. Meals are not included, so it's a good idea to bring a packed lunch and snacks for the trip, as well as cash for meals in El Bolsón or Trevelin. Entrance fees to the Tulip Fields and Nant and Fall Waterfalls are included.

Recommendations
Pack layers of clothing and a windbreaker: it's spring, and in the countryside, under the open sky, the wind and temperature fluctuate considerably throughout the day. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes for the trails between the rows of trees and around the waterfalls. Bring a fully charged camera battery, because the countryside with the Andes Mountains in the background makes for some of the best photos of the year. Also pack sunglasses, sunscreen, water, and something to eat—especially useful for meals in El Bolsón or Trevelin.

Yes. Entrance to the Tulip Fields and Nant and Fall Waterfalls are included in the tour price. Meals are the only extra cost.
-
Why does it last so many hours?
Because Trevelin is in Chubut, much further south than Bariloche, and the route also passes through El Bolsón and its waterfalls. It's the longest excursion we offer: it leaves very early and returns around 10 pm. The distance is enough to justify the full day.

No. The crossing is interprovincial, from Río Negro to Chubut, within Argentina. There are no formalities or special travel documents required, just your usual ID.
-
Is there anywhere to eat or do we need to bring our own food?
Meals are not included. There are options for eating in El Bolsón and Trevelin, and in the latter you can have traditional Welsh tea on your own. As it's a long day, it's a good idea to bring a packed lunch, some snacks, and cash.
-
What happens if the weather ruins the flowering?
The flowering period is gradual and depends on the spring weather, so the dates may vary slightly. We monitor the conditions of the fields and will confirm the best time to visit when you book. The tour will proceed rain or shine; it will only be rescheduled in the event of weather alerts or road closures.
