Included in the tourRoute 40, the Amphitheater and the Enchanted Valley
The first leg of the journey departs from Bariloche on National Route 40 and follows the course of the Limay River, where the forest gradually gives way to the steppe landscape. The first stop is the Amphitheater, a rock wall sculpted by erosion into a semicircular shape. Shortly after, you enter the Enchanted Valley, an area of rock formations with recognizable shapes: the most famous is the Finger of God, but the Castle and the Indian's Face can also be identified depending on the viewing angle.
Villa Traful and its lake
From the main road, the route veers towards Villa Traful, a small village of wooden houses on the shores of the lake of the same name, within Nahuel Huapi National Park. It's one of the most tranquil spots along the way: crystal-clear water, a wooden pier, and wooded hills enclosing the valley. The village is known among anglers for its salmonids and offers a few restaurants for a midday break.
Seven Lakes and Villa La Angostura
The road continues towards Puerto Arrayán and El Portezuelo, where it joins a section of the Seven Lakes Route. The entire route to San Martín de los Andes isn't covered, but rather the southern portion, which passes by lakes like Lago Espejo before reaching Villa La Angostura. There, you'll have free time to stroll through the town center, cross the footbridge over the Correntoso River, and do some shopping before beginning the return journey to Bariloche along the shores of Nahuel Huapi.
The Circuito Grande covers a section of the Seven Lakes Route, not the entire route to San Martín de los Andes. If you're looking for the complete route, the recommended excursion is the San Martín de los Andes via the Seven Lakes tour.

Requirements and restrictions
No prior experience or special physical condition is necessary. However, it's worth noting that it's a long day with several hours of driving and sections of gravel road, so anyone prone to motion sickness should bring medication. It's important to respect the meeting times indicated by the guide at each stop, as the route has a tight schedule to complete the loop before returning.

Recommendations
Pack a small backpack with layers of clothing, a windbreaker, comfortable closed-toe shoes, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Add water and your own packed lunch: although there are places to eat in the villages, your time there is limited, and it's best not to rely on them. A camera with a fully charged battery is also worthwhile, as the route is one of the most photogenic in the area.

-
What is the difference between the Big Circuit and the Small Circuit?
He Circuito Chico The half-day tour takes you to the classic viewpoints near the city: Campanario, Llao Llao, and Punto Panorámico. The Circuito Grande is a full-day tour that heads north to Villa Traful and Villa La Angostura. They are complementary, not alternatives: if you have several days, it's common to do both.
-
Is the entire Seven Lakes Route covered?
No. The Circuito Grande follows the southern section of the Seven Lakes Route, between El Portezuelo and Villa La Angostura. The complete route, which extends to San Martín de los Andes, is a separate excursion.
-
Where can I eat during the tour?
Villa Traful and Villa La Angostura have restaurants and cafes. The tour doesn't include meals, so you can eat there or bring your own food. Since stop times are limited, many passengers prefer to bring their own food.

No. The tour goes ahead regardless of the weather: rain, snow, and wind are all part of the Patagonian landscape. It is only modified or rescheduled if the road authority closes any section of the route.
-
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, there are no physical demands. The only thing to consider is that it's several hours of driving, so with very young children, it's advisable to assess whether they can handle the journey well.

Wear layers of clothing, a windproof and waterproof jacket, and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. You can go from bright sunshine to cold winds in a single day, especially at stops near the water. Sunglasses and sunscreen are essential year-round.
